Hello all!!! What an amazing opening we have had. We officially opened our doors on July 1st and have been almost booked solid since that time. We are 90% full for the month of July and have started receiving some

reservations for the months of August and September. I am truly humbled by the kind works of encouragement we have received from our guests. They have truly been amazing! We have met some awesome folks already and can't wait to meet our further guests.

We have had some minor hiccups here and there, but for the most part things have been running smoothly. Most guests are amazed at the views!! And yes, they are amazing!!

I have started a part time job and will be playing the piano at a nearby church. Hopefully I will be able to juggle it all!! If you see me in town looking quite ragged just know that I am trying my best to maintain!!!

Bye for now!!!

So, I said to good-bye to my friends and co-workers in Glenwood Springs this past Thursday. I worked with these guys and gals for over 2 years. It was bittersweet as I will miss them greatly, but the time had come to follow my dreams. Our family has been united and we are hard at work on renovations. Sometimes I feel like I'm way in over my head, but all it takes is for me to go outside and soak in the mountain air and tremendous views and I remember why we were drawn to this property at first sight.

I visited the Ouray public library and did some research on the families of Log Hill Mesa and Colona. A picture of "The Pinon Grove School" was in one of the library books I checked out! This historic school house is located on our property. We will hopefully have it open to guests to tour very soon! If anyone reading this has any old pictures of the school house I would love to see them!

On a different note, we recently acquired a new puppy "Rue". She's a long haired German Shepherd and she's an absolute mess. We love her though!!!

Isn't she a cutie pie!!!!!!!!

Hello! Let me start by welcoming you to Chimney Top Acres!!! I am so excited to be embarking on this new and exciting journey. First, let me introduce myself. I'm Nikki, I am a Southern gal by heart that moved to the rugged mountains of Colorado 2 years ago. I still get asked, "You're not from around here are you!!" As hard as I try it's hard to wing this Southern draw. I am a mother to 3 children and 3 fur babies, and a wife to my amazing husband of 17 years, Michael.

We, as a family, moved from our subdivision life in New Castle, CO to this farm atop the mountains in Ridgway, CO. It has been a long time dream of mine to develop a business in which I could do the things I love to do on a regular basis: cook, entertain, and decorate!! When we first toured the property we knew "This was the one!" After much praying we decided to take the plunge. We purchased the previous "Double L Ranch" in April of this year and have been working our fingers to the bone in preparations for our upcoming B&B opening. "Chimney Top Acres" can be best described a 'Storybrook' setting meets Switzerland Chalet meets Cowboy Ranch!! It truly is unique in every way with amazing views to match. I guarantee you there is no other that will match the uniqueness of this property. We are so excited to be welcoming guests to our B&B starting July 1st, 2019. Please check back often for updates. And yes, this is my first Blog ever!! Maybe I didn't mess it up too bad.....
